Just a few words about us
Chris and Jonelle Jarvis (of local coffee roasters Bay Espresso) purchased the stalwart business in 2017. “We saw Roosters as another iconic Hawkes Bay Brand, and thought we could use our cafe skills to take the Tastings Rooms to the next level. We didn’t know much about making beer but hospo was our passion and there’s no hospo without beer!”
Roosters was started in Hastings in 1998. It has quietly served the Omahu Road area, making outstanding beer, way before craft beer was even a thing!
We pride ourselves on not being “too crafty”. We just make really good fresh beer. It is tasty and doesn’t contain the preservatives of the soulless, mass produced brands . We are a local brewery promoting the positive impacts of local connection and social interaction. We’re boosting our local economy and adding to the creative Hastings’ vibe and cultural identity of the region.
Hawke’s Bay is so well known for it’s gourmet experiences. Wine, coffee, food and now local beer is making up part of that scene.
